With the completely new PW-X3, Yamaha further develops its Pure Ride concept. Lighter, smaller, more torque - this next-generation power unit enables a whole new way of off-road riding with its direct-response assistance. The all-new PW-X3 delivers pure riding pleasure with its thrilling performance. With its low weight, compact dimensions and extra torque, the PW-X3 opens up phenomenal possibilities for e-mountain bike designers.

Higher torque
With a maximum torque of 85 Nm, the PW-X3 is capable of tackling even the most demanding climbs. Yamaha's signature drivetrain design provides immediate support with sufficient torque as soon as pressure is applied to the pedal, rather than after a certain number of revolutions.

Lighter than ever
Weighing just 2.75 kg, the PW-X3 is approximately 10 percent lighter than its predecessor. The resulting outstanding power-to-weight ratio enables even more riding fun and precise handling.

Compact design
The PW-X3 is approximately 20 percent smaller than the PW-X2 and its ultra-compact dimensions now offer e-bike manufacturers the opportunity to design even lighter bikes with ideal frame geometry and suspension kinematics, as well as more ground clearance.

Natural and agile riding feel
The ISIS bottom bracket bearings with 128 mm axle, which have been installed in the PW-X drive units from the beginning, have the best Q-factor of all e-bike systems. The new PW-X3 from Yamaha also relies on this ideal design and is therefore particularly attractive for cycling enthusiasts.

Automatic control of the support levels for e-mountain bikes
The automatic support mode developed exclusively for the PW-X3 delivers optimally dosed additional power for different types of terrain. The Eco, Standard and High Performance levels are available. The system provides less support on flat roads but more power on steep climbs, creating a finely tuned support feeling that gives the impression the drive unit can read minds.
